A Week to Land – Week two : Colours & Cultures 16 – 23 August 2026

Event Description

A week where every child’s world becomes part of something bigger.

Your children have been somewhere. Probably many somewheres. They carry pieces of those places with them, a word in a language that isn’t ours, a pattern they noticed on a wall, a gesture they picked up without even realising it.

This week, all of that becomes the material.

We’re gathering a small group of worldschooling and free-learning families on a forested hillside in Skiathos for seven days of making, exploring, and genuinely landing somewhere. The children have their workshops. The grown-ups have space to breathe. Meals are cooked fresh every day. The tent is already up when you arrive.

All you have to do is show up.

What the children will be making

Over the first two mornings, the children come to the circle and share. A colour from a country. A word. A gesture. A pattern from a place that stayed with them. The facilitators listen, collect, weave it together.

Then on Thursday, it all becomes one thing.

The signature moment of the week:

The whole group paints a shared wall together. Every child’s piece finding its place alongside everyone else’s. Their travels, their memories, their worlds, all of it pressed into one mural that stays on the land after you leave. Future families will gather around it without knowing your children’s names, and something of them will still be there.

What the week looks like

Every day has a rhythm, but it’s a gentle one. Mornings start with a circle. Workshops happen before the heat of the day. Afternoons are for the beach, the forest, or doing absolutely nothing if that’s what you need.

Midweek, we take a private wooden sailboat out to beaches you can only reach by water. A cook on deck, hidden coves, children jumping off the side. It tends to become everyone’s favourite day.

Friday evening is Mamma Mia Night, open-air cinema under the Skiathos stars, local dancers, about 200 people, and absolutely everyone singing. Trust us, no cinema will ever compare!

What’s included

Tented accommodation, all vegetarian meals cooked fresh daily, fruit, morning circles, painting and cultural circle workshops, beach excursions, forest hikes, the wooden sailboat day, Mamma Mia Night, and a pizza party. One price. Nothing left to organise.

575€ per person — adults and children alike.

What ?

A Joyceful Nature Adventures family camp. One week, all included, rooted in nature and community. Click HERE for more info and The Brochure

Who ?

Families who home-educate, unschool, worldschool, or simply want a different kind of summer. You don’t need a label. If your children have grown up moving through different cultures and you want a week where that becomes something beautiful rather than something to explain, this one is for you.

Solo parents are very welcome. We have a double tent, two igloos with a shared common space, designed exactly for solo parents who want to share the week with another family. A little co-parenting for seven days, with your own private space to come back to.

Where?

On the magical mountain of the beautiful island of Skiathos, Greece, in Joy’ce Kingdom

When ?

From August 16th to August 23rd 2026

Accomodation ?

You’ll be sleeping in comfortable family tents on the land, surrounded by forest. Outdoor showers, compost toilets, and all the simplicity that makes a week like this feel different from ordinary life.

How to arrive ?

Here are some options for getting to Skiathos:

  1. Direct Flight from Athens: The easiest way is to check which days there are flights from Athens to Skiathos and plan your arrival in Athens accordingly. While it might be slightly more expensive than taking the bus and boat, it’s definitely more convenient.
  2. Bus and Boat from Athens: The second easiest way is to take a bus from Athens to Mantoudi and catch a boat to Skiathos. When booking your bus ticket, remember that the port is called Kymasi—don’t head to the village of Mantoudi! Alternatively, boats also depart from Agios Konstantinos and Volos. You can check the schedules for all these routes on Openseas.
  3. Charter Flights: During the summer, there are charter flights directly to Skiathos or Volos from England, Italy, France, Germany and more. It’s worth checking these options as well!

Not sure which option works best for your travel dates? We’ll help you figure it out. And once you reach Skiathos, a bus will bring you straight to the land.

✨ More than a place

Joy’ce Kingdom is not just a place.

It is a space where people come together to live, learn, and grow.

A space of shared meals, spontaneous moments, challenges, laughter, and creation.

A space where something real is being built.
Both on the land, and between people.

How to Book

Ready to land? Fill in the booking form and we’ll take it from there. Spots are limited, so if you feel the pull, it’s worth doing it sooner rather than later..

💖 The land is ready. The children are going to love it!

We can’t wait to meet you.💖
