Our volunteers – Alex

Who are you ?
My name is Alexander, I’m a 24-year-old student from Germany, and I had originally planned to spend six weeks volunteering at a dog shelter near Thessaloniki. Unfortunately, I was bitten several times, and the risk of further injuries became too high for me to stay until my planned end date. Since I still want to dedicate my time and energy to a meaningful project, I’ve started looking for other volunteer opportunities. Good jokes always brighten my day, sometimes the ones my older sister makes.

Your journey before the Kingdom
I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, invest my time and energy in a meaningful cause and become more independent.

What do you bring with you?
One of my strengths is my creativity. In my free time, alongside my graphic design studies, I enjoy painting, often working with mixed media and experimenting with different techniques. I value a respectful and honest communication, and I aim to contribute with my skills as much as I can.

What are you hoping to find?

I’d like to experience a more simple way of life, especially as a contrast to my fast paced life in a big city. I also want to test my adaptability and challenge myself with new responsibilities.

And when you look ahead…
Afterwards, I plan to continue my graphic design studies and complete my degree. I’m curious to see what the future holds.
