Skiathos Youth – Empowering Our Island’s Young Generation
A living online space for the island’s young people, gathering workshops, activities, shows, and all the sparks that make growing up on Skiathos joyful and inspiring.
Who We Are
Skiathos Youth began in 2018, when a group of EVS volunteers planted the first seeds of a simple dream: to offer the children and teenagers of Skiathos a space to create, express, and explore.
In the schoolyard, they grew a small garden. In the classrooms and in the community, they opened doors to theatre, painting, movement, video, voice, and play. Their open invitation said it all:
«Ηθοποιοί, ζωγράφοι, φωτογράφοι, μουσικοί, καραγκιοζοπαίχτες, youtubers, gachatubers, video editors, τραγουδιστές και όσοι άλλοι δεν έχετε βρει ακόμα το ταλέντο σας…» (“Actors, painters, photographers, musicians, shadow puppeteers, YouTubers, Gachatubers, video editors, singers, and everyone else who hasn’t found their talent yet…”)
Everyone with a curiosity, a spark, a hidden talent was welcome.
Six years later, this spirit returns with a new shape. Skiathos Youth is now an umbrella initiative and shared online space where activities for young people on the island are gathered and shared. Through its Facebook group, it connects locals and visitors by making visible events and initiatives happening across Skiathos, celebrating creativity, connection, and the everyday magic of growing up between sea and forest.

Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to offer an open, playful, and inclusive online space where activities for young people on Skiathos can be shared and discovered. Through our Facebook group, we help make visible events, workshops, cultural initiatives, and opportunities created by local actors and visitors, so youth and families can more easily connect with what the island already offers.
Our vision is a vibrant and connected youth community on Skiathos, where information flows easily, creativity is encouraged, and young people feel supported by a wider network around them. We imagine an island where arts, nature, culture, and community are more visible and accessible, helping the next generation find spaces to grow, explore, and belong.

What We Do
Our Activities & Programs
Skiathos Youth is a shared online space where workshops, activities, and experiences happening on the island are gathered and shared, inspiring and supporting young people as they explore who they are and who they can become.
Environmental Awareness Projects
We shine a light on the initiatives that help young people reconnect with the land and sea. Whether it is our own school gardens, nature workshops, or beach cleanups, or the environmental actions organised by others on the island, we gather and share every opportunity that nurtures care for Skiathos. Each project invites youth to learn by observing, tending, and protecting the natural world around them.
Creative Arts & Culture
From theatre and painting to music, photography, and storytelling, we celebrate the arts in all their forms. We host creative spaces of our own and also promote the rich cultural workshops, festivals, and activities offered by the community. Together, they create a colourful playground where young people explore their talents and express who they are.
Youth Dialogue & Education
We bring together learning opportunities that open minds and spark curiosity. Through our own workshops, youth circles, and Erasmus+ pathways — and through educational events created by teachers, mentors, and groups across the island — we help young people discover new perspectives. Our goal is to cultivate thoughtful, confident youth who feel connected, capable, and inspired.
Volunteer & Community Engagement
We highlight local opportunities for young people to get involved, from helping at community events to joining volunteer actions on the island. We also support and send Skiathos youth to workshops, trainings, and exchanges abroad, giving them the chance to explore new cultures, learn new skills, and bring fresh ideas back home. Through local involvement and international experiences, young people become active contributors to the life of the island.
